Wow, what a year 2025 has been in the U.S. Listen, I know most of us are not going to celebrate this fourth of July, and I can’t blame you, but you have to remember the fourth isn’t about politics. The fourth of July in the U.S. is about our independence from England; that’s it, forget about the king/dictatorship takeover for a minute. We don’t have the king or queen of England’s head on our currency (like in Canada or Australia), we say “zebra,” not “zedbra,” we go “yahoo, woohoo, let’s go,” and maybe even “yeehaw” over Here Here!, we don’t say “al-lu-min-ium,” and The U.S came up with democracy in the first place; if we hadn’t, not only the U.S. but also Australia, Canada, New Zealand, India, and more would be part of England's empire and still be ruled by a king. If that was the case, then we may never have come up with democracy. Knowing this, today should still be somewhat special. Also look back at how we protested against our administration; we should be proud.
